Select an entire data table in Excel

Selecting a large data table by highlighting and dragging the mouse can sometimes be difficult in Microsoft Excel, especially with a large amount of data. Excel 2010 makes it easy to select an entire data table using one keystroke.
To select a data table:

  • Select any cell within your table of data.
  • Press Ctrl + A

Note: the entire data set (all rows and columns) will be highlighted
